JOB SUMMARY
This position requires the Creative Associate to lead and direct all aspects of the creative process including the planning, execution and completion of one-of-a-kind, unique and innovative events conducted by the company. Under the direction of the Creative Director, this position is a pivotal and important aspect of a fast paced, demand driven and growth oriented organization providing a unique service to a diverse range of organizational and high net worth individual clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meets with clients to understand the scope of the event
- Develops and communicates the event concept and design, specifically in the details such as theme, composition and integration of multi-faceted components of an event such as venue(s), color, sound, lighting, décor, and any other relevant attributes of the creative planning process
- Presents and promotes event concept and design to clients
- Leads event teams and vendors and communicates details of production to ensure implementation and alignment with the design
- Consults with event teams and vendors about event design changes or modifications through to final production detail including set-up, rehearsal, event production and post event activities with all staff in the creation and finalization of the event plan
- Understands event plan details to determine how they should be implemented in association with relevant event team members
- Establishes and implements a catalog system for décor and props in inventory; creates a system to track ideas or elements for the Creative Department such as existing and new venues and entertainment, lighting ideas and concepts, tear sheets showing interesting décor and floral, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree required
- A minimum of 5 years experience in the creative field required, specifically working with high profile clients, non-profit organizations and event concept and design
- A solid track record of increasing responsibility in a creative role along with the ability to work independently within the culture of strong collaboration in a group process
- Exceptional presentation skills coupled with sales acumen to promote the company Class A brand standards and its services
- Attention to detail, critical thinking, creative ability, and willingness to do ‘whatever it takes’ to achieve the project objective
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure
- Exceptional organization, communication and project/time management skills
- Flexibility to change and adapt to considerable variety in the workplace
- Knowledge of textiles, décor, architecture, lighting, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective profit of the event plan
- Ability to travel (approximately 25%)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Able to work overtime, nights and weekends
- Works autonomously with minimal supervision
